Developing Awareness of Similarities and Differences
While most young children understand the grouping of items into basic
categories, such as toys, food, pets, etc., children with auditory processing
problems and weak language skills often do not grasp the subtle similarities
and differences that allow objects, people and animals to be grouped and
regrouped into a variety of categories.
This book provides students with an excellent foundation for understanding
how subtle similarities and/or differences can change or build new categories
within a larger group.
Help students learn this important aspect of categorization which is
so essential to later mastery of higher-level language skills.
