Increase pragmatic, semantic and syntactic skills with these high-use,
high-interest language activities.
The activities cover four stages of language development, each clearly
defined
- Encoding experiences (ages 2 1/2 - 4): Activities at this stage reflect
the process of learning to talk about direct experiences.
- Concepts and conversations (ages 3 1/2 - 5): Activities are directed
toward refining conversational skills, expanding vocabulary and syntax,
and developing basic concepts and early categorization.
- Sequences and scenarios (ages 4 1/2 - 6): Activities support the acquisition
of narrative skills, including increased sentence complexity, sequencing,
story-telling, following directions and answering questions.
- Developing decontextualization (ages 5 1/2 - 9): Activities focus on
the organization and comprehension of complete, coherent messages.
These reproducible activities can go from the therapy session to the
classroom or home for extended use, resulting in carryover of important
language skills. Plus, this material is a real timesaver - each activity
is accompanied by a complete, reproducible lesson plan.
